An Arkansas family business is building on 11 years of growth while expanding into new opportunities in aerospace and defense.

When Ellis Custom Solutions started 11 years ago, the company was focused primarily on maintenance and repair. Today, the Benton, Arkansas, business has grown into a full-scale precision manufacturing operation with seven full-time employees, millions of dollars invested in CNC equipment, and a growing list of capabilities.

The company was founded by Logan Ellis’s father, who brought years of experience as a tooling engineer with companies including Lennox, Trane, Rheem, and Electrolux. What began as a maintenance business gradually became something much bigger as the company saw opportunities to use that experience in manufacturing.

Over the past 11 years, Ellis Custom Solutions has continued to invest in equipment, people, and processes. The company now specializes in precision turned parts, HVAC components, air conditioner fins, and custom job-shop work. The transition from maintenance to manufacturing has been one of the company's biggest milestones.

“We’ve really grown from just doing maintenance and repair into a full manufacturing operation.” - Logan Ellis

That growth has come with significant investment. Ellis Custom Solutions has acquired millions of dollars in CNC equipment while also putting stronger quality systems in place. Those investments have helped the company take on more precise work and build the capabilities needed to serve customers consistently.

Now, the company is looking toward its next opportunity: aerospace and defense.

Ellis Custom Solutions officially decided this year to begin pursuing work in the aerospace and defense industries, with a focus on building relationships with Arkansas-based companies. The company plans to bring the same focus on quality and on-time delivery that has helped it establish itself in other areas of manufacturing.

“We want to continue providing high-quality parts and making sure we deliver on time.” - Logan Ellis

For Logan, joining RAMP is part of that next step. After being referred to the program by a previous participant, he saw an opportunity to connect with other Arkansas manufacturers, learn from people with more experience in the industry, and better understand what it takes to continue growing a manufacturing business.

The goal is not just to grow Ellis Custom Solutions, but to help strengthen the manufacturing community in Arkansas. Logan wants to build relationships with other manufacturers and support an industry that has played an important role in his family's business. That family connection is also a major part of the company's culture. Logan's parents continue to work in the business, and the company makes an effort to treat its employees like family. For a small manufacturer, that culture has become an important part of how the business operates as it continues to grow.

“We really try to treat everybody here like family.” - Logan Ellis

With 11 years of growth behind them, Ellis Custom Solutions is entering a new chapter. The company has moved from maintenance and repair into precision manufacturing, invested heavily in CNC technology, strengthened its quality processes, and built a team capable of taking on new opportunities.

Now, the focus is on putting that foundation to work in aerospace and defense while continuing to grow alongside Arkansas's manufacturing community. Through RAMP, Logan is building new relationships, learning from other manufacturers, and preparing Ellis Custom Solutions for what comes next.

From a small maintenance operation to a growing precision manufacturer, Ellis Custom Solutions is continuing to build, invest, and look toward the future.
